September 13, 2014: Dallas Fiestas Patrias
The Dallas Fiestas Patrias will be celebrated in Dallas once more after a three year break from the cultural scene. The annual celebration is a call to arms given by the independence patriarch Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. The Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts (OCCA) is presenting the Dallas Fiestas Patrias in collaboration with the Latino Cultural Center (LCC). The Dallas Fiestas Patrias includes a one day festival on September 13 with a stage for live bands and performances including Tejano, Norteno, and Mariachi. There will also be vendors and exhibitors featuring traditional foods and cultural products.
